25 Acre Woods Digest (2021-11-11): All hail Surus!
The forlorn trailer that limped into camp a few weeks ago is made young again
As temps begin to drop up here in Maine, it’s time to tend to the equipment. This week has been all about Surus, our trusty trailer.
Let’s dig in.
A quick shot from the DeckCam(tm) this morning.
The leaves are down and the temps with them.
Check out the river of fog we’ve been getting most mornings over Porter Lake and the valley leading into it.
Surus has been busy this week!
As we started the week, Surus bore a load of loam for our garden. Zach disappeared that into our emerging garden early in the week.
Since then, our Trusty Trailer has lugged logs, delivered deck furniture to storage, and carried wood chips.
How could this Timeworn Tusker stand up to such heavy duty? Knowing that sand and more loam loom in the future?
Well, Surus understands the critical importance of self-care. Check out those spiffy new tires! Those new LED brake/signal lights!
Plus, Surus sports a new trailer jack (not shown). This handy gadget allows the trailer, even when fully loaded, to come off of the car hitch so we can let the Billy Goat roam.
Surus even took on a new set of safety chains which are attached in a more secure way to the trailer frame. You don’t really want to know what those are, but you also don’t want to leave home without ‘em.
Which do you prefer: Our old or new format?
Yes, faithful reader, we sense your anticipation. You want answers about survey results. And we had hoped to bring them this week.
However, some users struggled to complete the survey.
DOPE (our Data, Outlook, and Predictive Excellence team) went on the case. And determined a correlation between “zero responses” and “everyone got a broken survey link.” Now, DOPE cautions us that correlation does not mean caution. Nevertheless, our team leapt into action and provided a revised survey.
Let us know your thoughts. We know, we know, you want charts!
We’re pleased to announce that the 25 Acres completed a safe and harmonious Halloween.
Is that because our mushroom kit has not yet arrived?
Your humble reporter wonders what will Santa bring….
Of course, Surus is not the only aged veteran who must invest in self-care.
The 25 Acres broke loose in jubilation this week as your Humble Reporter celebrated gaining another year of wisdom.
Shout out to Olive From the Future for wardrobe design. (Hey, does our Fashion And Lifestyle Host (FLASH) see an expanded collection of hoodies on that site?)
That’s it for this week.
Next week, 25 Acres goes on the road. A quick visit to Providence then down south to see the Grand Matriarch. Will there be a bike ride too? Stay tuned!
