25 Acre Woods Digest (2021-07-25): Mobility ...

The die is cast. The fix is in. The pig is poked. Yes, we are in Maine full time.

Mobility is the word for the last couple of weeks. And it seems like that may keep going for a bit more than the next month, with trips in the next month planned back to Providence (Michelle will camp in a near-empty house for two weeks), Bethesda, then Eastward Bound (Zora, Michelle, and Chip work backwards from Ketchikan).

Yep, faithful readers, with the help of the Evergreen Ever Given (what we called our truck), we have now emptied Providence and carted it all to Maine.

Pro tip: Don’t hire guys on contract just to load/unload. Instead, use a company that will be responsible for damage.

There’s our Generous Sponsor escorting The Kitten up to Maine.

The cat is settling in well … but we have yet to see a mouse or bird brought inside. Or, thinking about it, him go outside.

Time to earn his keep???

Had some good rain while we were down south in PVD. Which seems to have led to mushroom season up here.

Should we add dried mushrooms to our online shoppe? Let us know what you’d like.

Seeing as how we now have a cat, we’ve needed to also bring in a Game Warden.

Why the smile?

Guess who has now taken over the master bedroom space upstairs?

Zora is starting her slow-motion move too. From her current location somewhere near Santa Elves Toy Shoppe, North Pole, she’s moving to live on Broadway.

Maybe a few miles up from Times Square but on Broadway all the same.

To start getting ready, we dipped down to NYC for a weekend and dropped off the stuff that had been in our house since the COVID evacuation last spring.

Was thinking we’d have a nice weekend hanging out in restaurants and coffee shops. Here, Our Sponsor treats Your Humble Correspondent to some italian. Instead we ran into 95 degree heat. So, we beat it back up north ASAP.

Zora won’t actually arrive until early Sept, but her roommates are moving in now, given that they have a 12-month lease.

Speaking of the Distant Daughter ….

Check out The Grand Matriarch’s old Avalon. All gussied up for a weekend on the lakes of Alaska.

Of course, there’s time to fit in a little firewood in between. Progress on the Winter 2022-23 firewood is slow but steady.

That’s all for now.
